چکیده

It is important to study the characteristics of nozzle deluge spray comply with standards developed by petroleum industry for offshore installations in Norway. Due stochastic nature decomposition processes and geometrical features within nozzle, has a complex flow field. Since field determines performance spray, present performs an experimental characterization medium velocity validation computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models. The experiment was conducted maximum supply water pressure 8.0 bar (g), which identical operating pressures installations. Formerly, studies or sprinkler were mostly targeted on residential usage lower pressures. I utilized laser-based shadow imaging system capture high-speed images, later processed MATLAB. A linear patternator used validate results technique. played role determining spray. In addition, significantly affected size distributions droplets, applied density (volume flux), area coverage. However, Sauter mean diameter did not vary azimuthal radial position droplet inner region measurements obtained this can be estimate extinguishing efficiency elevated Deviations between technique are discussed discrepancies discussed.

Driveability Analysis Techniques for Offshore Pile Installations

Pile driveability analyses for offshore platforms require a unique set of criteria, which may not normally be associated with other pile foundation installations. The selected hammers, pile makeup details and soil profile must be carefully reviewed, as these factors will determine if pile installations will be successful. The most important of the variables to establish is the expected Soil Res...

Life Extension Issues for Ageing Offshore Installations

With many offshore installations in the UK sector of the North Sea now reaching or being in excess of their original anticipated design life, there is a particular need to evaluate approaches to structural integrity management by offshore operators. Ageing processes can affect the structural integrity of the installation and demonstration of adequate performance beyond its original design life ...

A Technical Basis for Guidance of Lightning Protection for Offshore Oil Installations

Lightning strikes to flammable materials in Offshore Oil Installations (OOI) can cause devastating accidents. Explosions from flammable materials are a personnel safety danger. Loss of function and loss of production due to upsets of analog and digital low voltage systems is another. This paper describes the underlying basis for guidance of protection of Offshore Oil Installations (OOI) from di...
